On attribution: verified. Jockers' own website hosts a podcast episode in which, per the episode description, he breaks down how seed oils damage mitochondria and disrupt energy production, describing linoleic acid as remaining in the body for years and fueling chronic inflammation . In a separate interview he stated that replacing saturated fats with processed vegetable oils may do the body more harm than good, and that he continues to recommend saturated fats such as coconut oil . The attribution in the post is consistent with his documented, long-standing public position.
On substance: the mainstream evidence base directly contradicts the "myth" framing. The AHA presidential advisory concluded that randomized controlled trials that lowered dietary saturated fat and replaced it with polyunsaturated vegetable oil reduced cardiovascular disease by roughly 30 percent, similar to the reduction achieved by statin treatment .
