About 85% of dietary intake of lycopene comes from tomato and tomato-based sauces and other products , and a separate source puts the US figure at roughly 80%. Roughly 80% of the lycopene intake in the United States comes from tomato products . However, on a per-gram basis raw tomatoes are modest: Fresh tomatoes pack 2,573 mcg into a 100 g serving, according to the USDA , roughly 2.5 mg per 100 g. Concentrated and dried tomato products are far higher. Sun-dried tomatoes are the richest tomato food in lycopene, with 46 mg per 100g , and the range for tomato paste, 5.4 to 150 mg per 100 g, reflects how concentrated the product is .
