This claim is false. No research, from Harvard or anywhere else, has found that eating eggs adds 10 years to your life. No study, from Harvard or anywhere else, has found that eating eggs adds 10 years to life. After multiple search strategies, no source attributing a 10-year lifespan gain to eggs or an "egg diet" could be located.

The 10-year figure that does exist in the nutrition literature comes from a completely different study. Fadnes et al. (PLOS Medicine, 2022), from the University of Bergen in Norway, modeled the effect of shifting from a typical Western diet to an "optimized" dietary pattern. A young adult in the U.S. could add more than a decade to life expectancy by moving to a diet with more legumes, whole grains and nuts, and less red and processed meat. The modeled gain was roughly 10 years for a young adult and about 6 to 7 years for a middle-aged adult.
